My name is Dylan Cassidy. I am an avant-garde artist. You can find all my works here.
I’m an author, singer-songwriter, and programmer. My music is eclectic and sensual. It spans electronica, ambient, post-rock and more. My video games vary from platformers to horror to musicgen games.
I’ve published two songbooks so far - The Black Hymnal (2018) and The Emerald Hymnal (2024).
I was born and raised in Alabama. My parents were both musicians, and they passed their love of music onto me. I was introduced to Pink Floyd, Tangerine Dream, Peter Gabriel, and a diverse collection of other artists at a young age. Punk, prog rock, metal, grunge, R&B, soul, funk, blues, ambient and more.
I began educating myself about music history when I was 13, rebelling with hip-hop, jazz, and avant-garde music. I began playing fretless bass around the same time, and switched over to guitar when I was 15.
I began writing my own music in my teens, releasing my first EP in 2011, and my debut album “Mirrors for Princes” in 2012. I often write with a unique, tuplet-heavy sound. I also write a lot of music for my own indie games.
I was 12 years old when I began making games in February 2004. I strive to make transcendent, evocative video games and I love collaborating with friends. I also run the Shawn64 Archive in memory of Shawn Noel.
I began to synthesize my knowledge of music and coding in my 20s, releasing microtonal and generative music software in 2016. Since then I’ve been exploring the possibilities of a-life systems and models of consciousness.
In 2018, I released my first songbook “The Black Hymnal“. It’s a collection of very personal love songs.
I still make games! My story-driven horror game Enoch Never Dies was released in 2022. I released a masocore platformer game, Aeon Datablade, in 2024. You can play it in your browser!
I released my fifth Icy-la-Belle album, Casus Belli, which is the soundtrack to Aeon Datablade. I've also been releasing royalty free music under the alias bbydoll.
I released my new songbook, The Emerald Hymnal, on December 1st, 2024!
