Time Capsule

What happens on the other side of the glass?
That inaccessible, blue region from our past
A world in a crystal ball, sinking into the sea
Carrying the potentials held within you and me

When did our lives become our life
And when did our life become our lives again?

From there, the dream-crystal became an anchor
What happens in that dream world, I cannot say
That stays between quantum selves of you and me
Who only live together in their alternate realities

When did our lives become our life
And when did our life become our lives again?
A crystal darker than the floor of the ocean
Sending tsunami right back to the coastland

I still see that world in flecks of amethyst
How would life play out if I had stayed?
Would my crystal have fit inside your puzzle?
What kind of lovers would we have made?
I only have this fragment of the crystal
Where I can watch all the scenarios played
I remember when this fragment was broken
But I don't know when the crystal was made

When did our lives become our life
And when did our life become our lives again?
I only have this fragment of the crystal
Because the rest of my heart is broken
